About the ACE School Safety Outreach Programs

As part of the Community Outreach Program, the Alameda Corridor-East Project distributes age-appropriate rail and construction safety messages as well as detour information to schools near the ACE construction projects, detours and haul routes.

Safety Education Program

The program includes a series of four activities: 

1. Meetings with school officials to identify and discuss necessary safety measures and detour routing informational requirements
2. School safety assemblies
3. Distribution of safety kits
4. Annual evaluations and continued support

School Safety Kit Materials

In addition to the recommended school safety assemblies, ACE will make available an age-appropriate safety video and safety kit materials for distribution to each school. The safety kit includes the following items: 

Elementary Schools:

1. Plastic Bag with Logo
2. Safety Brochure
3. Pencils
4. Coloring Book
5. Crayons
6. Refrigerator Magnets
7. Erasers

Middle Schools & High Schools:

1. Plastic Bag with Logo
2. Safety Brochure
3. Pencils
4. Pens
5. Post-It Notepads
6. Highlighters
7. Refrigerator Magnets
8. Erasers
